2nd-8th December – National Grief Awareness Week
While many look forward to and celebrate the festive period, please be gentle and remember that it is a time of sadness for some that are grieving the loss of their loved ones.
A National Grief Awareness Week to raise awareness of all aspects of grief and loss on a national scale. To offer access to a choice of tailored bereavement support to all those grieving in the UK and to those working with the bereaved. Remember to be a little bit kinder this season, smile at strangers that walk by & check in with your neighbours, family & friends.
The Good Grief Trust to help raise awareness of the impact of grief and to create a unified voice for all bereavement support services.
The Good Grief Trust exists to help all those affected by grief in the UK. Our vision is to help those bereaved from day one, acknowledge their grief and provide reassurance, a virtual hand of friendship and ongoing support.
The Grief Trust bring bereavement services together, to ensure that everyone receives the tailored support they need to move forward with their lives.
With approx 650,000 deaths in the UK every year, at some time in our lives ALL of us will be affected by grief and none of us know how we will react to the death of someone close until it happens.
Run by the bereaved, for the bereaved, they aim to normalise grief and raise awareness of the impact of grief on a national platform.
They aim to encourage talking about grief in a more honest, straightforward way, help to make the pain a little more bearable for those at the early stages and offer inspiration and hope to the bereaved further along their own grief ‘journey’.
