Your team were amazing – all of them were such a pleasure to have around, always smiling and they worked their socks off, they honestly didn’t stop, we had to ask them to take their breaks!
Festival Of Speed
At American Express presents BST Hyde Park 2026, Nu Group worked collaboratively with LS Events, Northwood and B Sure Recycling to introduce a dedicated recycling route for used paper hand towels.
Across nine concert days, our onsite teams incorporated the separate collection of hand towels into the existing cleaning and waste operation. Dedicated bins enabled segregation at source, with the recovered material kept separate and collected for recycling through Northwood’s Green Loop programme.
Rather than entering a traditional disposal route, the recovered hand towels were returned through Northwood’s recycling process, allowing the fibre to be used again within paper hygiene manufacturing.
The initiative demonstrates how individual waste streams can be identified and incorporated into an established major-event operation, creating better environmental outcomes without adding unnecessary complexity.
Across the event:
The project brought together each part of the supply chain, from segregation and onsite collection through to recycling and remanufacturing.
For Nu Group, it demonstrates the value of looking beyond waste collection alone and working with clients and partners to identify opportunities for better segregation, resource recovery and circular solutions.
