As Christmas is edging near, so are work do’s, family get togethers, house parties, the whole shabangg!
If you are hosting a Christmas or New year’s party this year. All is well until the dreaded clean the day after. With all the leftover food, the drink spillages and general mess it’s safe to say it won’t be a piece of cake. Here are some top tips to avoid the dread of cleaning by making it as easy and efficient as possible.
First things first, make sure your cleaning supplies are stocked up. This means adding extra cloths, detergents, air fresheners and sponges onto your Christmas shopping list. Preparation is key.
Don’t start straight away!
Try to steer away from cleaning the minute your guests leave. Get prepared, this would mean getting a good night’s sleep before you take on the challenge. Getting general things ready the night before is fine, a simple tidy up, collection of large amounts of rubbish would probably help the next morning but won’t break your back.
Having a helping hand to share the load would be a big help. Delegating certain jobs between you both and agreeing on them would minimise cleaning times and avoid unnecessary stress.
Oven and stove tops!
If you are a foodie who loves to cook at gatherings, your stove top and oven are going to be getting a lot of attention. Use a sponge to scrub off the grease with a homemade paste made up of baking soda and peroxide. Let the paste sit for 5 minutes to do its job. Then simply wipe away.
Don’t forget to take frequent breaks in between and have lots of water to stay hydrated from the possible consumption of alcohol the previous day. The last thing you need is a headache with a house full of mess!
If you’ve got lovely, expensive carpet in your house. trying to avoid getting any stains on it during a party is near enough impossible. Especially when its RED WINE related!! Well, today is your lucky day. Follow the link attached to our tips to get wine out of your carpet.
Happy Holidays 😊
