As a company that prides itself on continued improvements, we’re excited to share this update with you. Nu Group owner, Mark, started beekeeping after giving up rugby 4 years ago. With his newfound knowledge and passion for bees, pollination and honey, he has grown his number of colonies to a total of 21.
Bee populations are at risk of extinction. Climate change and pollution are just two of the dangers that threaten these creatures. Mark has shared his knowledge with us, and as a large events supplier in the UK, we believe we have the means to make a difference. We now recycle materials from events to use in our apiaries, to make bee stands, hive bases and roofs.
We’ve also planted over 700 trees on land owned by Mark, with another 500 trees ready to be planted this winter. There’s room for thousands of trees, so if you’d like to get involved and support our actions, we’d love to hear from you! Also, if you’d like to sample some of our beautiful locally made (in Essex) honey, get in touch and we’ll send you a jar.
There are plans to expand this project up to 50 hives. We’d love to have our customers and clients join in, so let us know what you’re doing to protect our environment or if you’d like to help the Nu Group’s mission. Or why not start by planting some bee-friendly flowers in your outdoor spaces!
